Join the Cross-Cultural Community Services Association (TCCSA) for an exciting and enriching Harbourfront Art & Fun Fieldtrip on Saturday, August 15th, 2026! This special day out is designed to bring together members of our community for an unforgettable exploration of Toronto's vibrant waterfront, focusing on art, culture, and delightful summer activities.

An Invitation to Explore and Connect

This fieldtrip is specially organized with priority for South Markham residents (with postal codes L3R, L3S, L3P or L6G), as well as Permanent Residents and Convention Refugees. It's a fantastic opportunity to connect with fellow community members, experience new aspects of Canadian culture, and enjoy a relaxing day away from the everyday. We encourage all eligible participants to join this enriching experience. For Permanent Residents and Convention Refugees, please remember to bring your permanent resident cards and landing papers when paying the deposit.

Your Day at Toronto's Iconic Waterfront

Prepare for a day filled with discovery and enjoyment at two of Toronto's most celebrated cultural institutions: the Harbourfront Centre and the Power Plant Contemporary Art Gallery. The Harbourfront Centre is a dynamic hub for arts, culture, and recreation, offering a diverse range of activities and beautiful lakeside views. The Power Plant, Canada's leading public gallery dedicated exclusively to contemporary art, will challenge and inspire with its cutting-edge exhibitions.

What to Expect:

• Artistic Immersion: Wander through captivating art installations, both indoor and outdoor, at Harbourfront Centre. Delve into thought-provoking contemporary art exhibitions at the Power Plant Gallery, designed to spark conversation and new perspectives.
• Cultural Experiences: Experience the diverse cultural tapestry that Harbourfront Centre often showcases, from live performances to unique craft markets (depending on the day's programming).
• Summer Fun: Enjoy the lively atmosphere of the waterfront. Whether it's watching boats, strolling along the boardwalk, or simply taking in the beautiful summer weather, there will be plenty of opportunities for relaxation and enjoyment. Children will love the interactive water features and open spaces, making it a perfect family-friendly outing.
• Community Building: This fieldtrip is more than just sightseeing; it's an opportunity to build connections, share experiences, and foster a sense of belonging within the community.

Practical Details for a Smooth Trip

The day begins bright and early, so please ensure you arrive on time!

• Gathering Location: TCCSA York Centre, Unit 213A, 3636 Steeles Ave E, Markham, L3R1K9 (Metro Square - Main Entrance).
• Gathering Date & Time: Saturday, August 15th, 2026, at 9:30 AM.
• Return Bus Gathering Time: We will depart from Harbourfront Centre/Power Plant Gallery at 2:15 PM, returning to the TCCSA York Centre.

What to Bring:

To ensure you have the most comfortable and enjoyable day, please put on your comfortable clothes & shoes. Don't forget to pack a lunch & water to stay energized throughout our explorations. Sunscreen and a hat are also highly recommended for a summer day by the lake!

Registration and Fees

A refundable deposit of $5 per person is required to secure your spot. This deposit will be fully refunded on the day of the trip upon your participation. Please note that all deposits are forfeited in case of a no-show. This helps us manage attendance and ensure everyone who wants to participate has a fair chance.

• TCCSA York Centre (during office hours & Wednesday until 7pm)
• TCCSA Scarborough Centre (during office hours)
